Parry Joinery were more than happy to be part of this makeover and their joinery expertise was essential in ensuring the upgrades were both functional and sustainable in this unique environment, looking out over the sea and to Cardigan Bay.
The company was responsible for manufacture and installation of the external doors and frames, external folding windows, a number of internal doors with circular vision panels, ceiling cladding and an external sliding hatch kiosk. One of the main challenges of this project was ensuring that the timber choice would be able to withstand the test of time in a variety of weather conditions experienced by a seafront business. For this reason Accoya was the timber of choice for the external joinery work. This is an extremely hard wearing and durable timber that has been treated by the Acetylation process that ensures the wood has minimal water absorption. Further details of the project can be seen here.
The windows operate on a bottom-rolling Brio Weatherfold 5c door operating system. .This system eliminates the need for a reinforced structural beam above the opening as the window weight is carried by the bottom rollers and uses a large horizontal puck for its roller. This innovative puck design consists of a stainless steel tyre and a precision bearing, making it smooth to operate.
